Prof.arch. MASSIMO RICCI's curriculum
Italian, born 13 May 1946. Architect and instructor at the University of Florence.
Educated in Italy; graduate of Architecture (magna cum laude) from the University of Florence.
He began his professional career in 1971 in charge of planning, restoration and consolidation of equipment and building monuments.
In 1979 he began his studies on the influence of solar energy relations in compositional processes of architecture, supported by physical and astronomical aspects of the prof. GiUSEPPE TAGLIAFERRI, Professor of Cosmology at the School of Astrophysics on Arcetri and President of the Italian Astronomical Society, and those technical and compositional by prof. GIULIANO MAGGIORA, professor of the Faculty of Architectural Composition Architecture in Florence.
The research had the intent the formulation of a new way of conceiving the architectural design, basing it on the exploitation of energy renewable. In short, the development of computational tools to allow analysis architect to study the relationship between solar energy and architectural formand implement then a method based on the architectural design of WASTE NOT energy resources.
He developed the methods of calculation for the architectural design aimed atenergy saving, simplifying and "calibrating" the architect for the needs of those used in astrophysics, atmospheric physics and solar physics. This research ledto the realization of their thesis, which had for theme "theoretical and methodological DETECTION OF SOLAR ENERGY PARAMETERS INRELATION TO SOIL MORPHOLOGY OF BUILDING AND DEVICES".
He is working about the OLD TECHNOLOGY APPLIED TO RESTORATION ANDCONSERVATION OF MONUMENTS AND APPLICATION OF THEPROCESS OF BUILDING DESIGN BIOCLIMATIC IN ARCHITECTURE AND URBAN.
Since 1990 he lectures graduate specialized personnel in the field of bio-climatic and the implications of technology in the field of Architecture AncientMonument Restoration, for a variety of Professional Associations (Engineers,Architects and Surveyors) is on behalf of the National Institute ofBioArchitecture.
Since 1975 he is doing studies on the dome of Santa Maria del Fiore to the identification of the deepening of its general technology. The research objective was to identify the construction method used by Filippo Brunelleschi.
As part of this research, in 1984, the undersigned began the construction of alarge-scale model of the dome above (scale 1:5).
This model forms the conclusion of the research on the method of constructionof the Dome. It 'was designed to further checks on the operational aspects of the suggested method of construction. The experiment has provided important results that allow the deciphering of thecapillary wall fabric of the dome and the rationale of the role of all the devicesleft in place by Brunelleschi (brackets, hooks and similar devices in theMonument) .
